My Thoughts
Then party planner Lauren learns that the charming new arrival Kian has reserved the same venue for his daughter’s birthday celebration, and her perfectly normal, never under any circumstances do things like that Christmas charity event is in jeopardy.
To Lauren, it’s not comfortable; she’s in risk of having all her plans derailed by this situation. She’s the type who has it all set up for how everything should go, everything detailed in her calendar, right down to what decorations will be on the Christmas tree. Kian’s laid back style is all but a threat to ruin her dream of a perfect event. But as they collaborate to get around both companies, there’s inevitable chemistry between them, and the mistletoe moments certainly don’t help their case.
Roberts captures all the hilarious details: From school kids acting the fool to an incident with the most disastrous comical Christmas pudding ever. Lauren and Kian have such a playful relationship that it’s perfectly balanced with the younger and older member’s relationships that grow throughout the book.
Children and seniors are excellent teachers about how to accept life’s unpredictable events and find the joy in unexpected opportunities to learn. I adored this book, it’s the perfect kind of warmth and charm when you hear/visit a small town that leaves you surprised by love when you don’t expect it. It’s a perfectly festive holiday read for any romance fan who isn’t willing to compromise the festive spirit for a bit of romance.
