The Throwback Thursday meme, was hosted by Renee@It’s Book Talk, it is a way to share some of your old favorites and books that you want to read that were published over a year ago. Susan over @Susan Loves Books does this meme every Thursday on her blog. So, I am joining the fun with her. Why not join the fun and leave your comment on her blog so she and everyone can visit your Throwback Thursday post? You can also link up with Davida @ The Chocolate Lady’s Book Review Blog for Throwback Thursday if you would like to.
Today, I am showcasing an excellent book I read back in 2017.
From Goodreads
Beware: This is a real high school diary.
I will not fall madly in love with a charming prince or my future husband. I won’t even get pregnant with that guy in Calculus. Hell, I won’t even take Calculus. Diary Girl is my journey through a four year long maze of cut throat friendships, popularity races, diet pills, and mortal enemies – and somehow I find my way out.
This project is a compilation of real diary entries stripped straight from the journals I vigorously wrote during my four years in high school. So, although the names have been changed, I promise that the stories, experiences, and people are all very real. For me, high school was not a single hurdle that I needed to overcome. It was not only an eating disorder or only true loneliness in the midst of a large group of friends. It was some new challenge every day. And now, it’s all yours.
My Thoughts
Great book – It should be on every classroom desk everywhere!
I think every middle school and high school kid should have to read this book as an assignment in English or whatever class it would fit in. There are so many life changing issues in this book, along with what really goes on in real life in REAL SCHOOL situations. Give your child a wonderful gift: THIS BOOK about what it is like to go through school years in real life!!
