My book for today is: They Are the Hunters by Faith Gardner
Publication Date: January 11, 2024
The family that slays together, stays together.
The Hunters appear to be the textbook definition of a perfect family leading a charmed life. When the enigmatic Olivia West befriends teenage daughter Eliza, Olivia becomes one of the family—an “honorary Hunter.”
Here’s what they don’t know about Olivia: she’s planning a murder. And whether they like it or not, every member of this family is going to become an accomplice.
And here’s what Olivia doesn’t know about the Hunters: they’ll do just about anything to protect their reputation.
First Sentence:
At ten past midnight, on a silent cul-de-sac, a picture-perfect house bursts into flames. Flames melting the thick carpet. Flames leaping across the drapes. Flames creeping up the grand piano legs and crawling over the floral sofa. They hurry up the wallpaper and blacken the popcorn ceiling.

“I just don’t see it,” Izzy says. This is something Eliza has thought too since last weekend. But despite how much Ezra and Olivia bothered her at first, the more Eliza thinks about it, the more it seems to make sense. She’s noticed a whisper of flirtation between the two of them. And Ezra and Olivia might actually have more in common with each other than they do with her— that’s just fact.
Today’s Question Is: – Have you ever loved a book that everyone else hated or hated a book that everyone else loved? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
A: Oh yes, many times. In one of my reading goals this year, I said if I like a book and not many others do, and I want to read it I am going to, no matter what other reviewers are saying. And visa versa!
