My Thoughts
This book provides good characters and good writing. Freya is a solid and comprehensible main character. The reason why Arthur died is what she is after. The book is enlivened by her amusing Aunt Carole with her antiques. They are a very entertaining part of the tale. Friends like Arthur’s helper are entertaining. They leave people guessing until the end of the story what they want.
Miller’s writing is the best for lovers of details that can feel the English village setting. She is skilled at putting some spice in something. Cara, on the other hand, each chapter finishes with a cue wanting the readers to find out what is hidden in the big house that was transformed into a weekend getaway for people who love old staff. This is what the story does, it is up-and-down, and readers are left guessing. I liked this story and I am sure you will.
Thank you to Anne from Random Things Tours and the author for allowing me to read and review this book.
