I had never read anything from this author before, but I thought the book was well crafted and spread in some fascinating historical details. It was a charming small-town Maryland and Chesapeake Bay vibe. The plot was completely powerful enough to keep me on my toes and the characters were easy to relate with. It was a good start to a new series.

To complicate matters, a body has been found in the library, along with a missing Edgar Allan Poe book. This unsettling revelation propels her into a quest to uncover the truth behind the vanished volumes and the motive behind the murder linked to her collection.
The backdrop is captivating, and filled with intriguing characters. The mystery unfolds in a delightfully intricate manner, making for an engaging read. I very much enjoyed this book, I highly recommend it to all cozy mystery lovers.
