This meme is hosted by Marlene over at Reading Reality every Saturday. Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you add to your shelves, whether physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical stores or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and, of course, eBooks!  And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks! In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

This is a Facebook group that has become an informal week-in-review gathering place for bloggers. The Sunday Salon is a place to link up and share what we have been doing during the week. Plus, it’s a great way to visit other blogs and join conversations. You can also link up on Sundays on Readerbuzz.

Life In General

It was a quiet week here. We did go out on Tuesday because it was in the upper 70s, sunny and gorgeous, and then it snowed the next day 😮 We went to Meijer since my daughter had a $100 gift card from Christmas still to spend. So she got the kids some things they needed and she bought a pair of Skechers so I bought myself the same ones so we could match 😂We did get four books from there too. I bought an older book I have wanted “Girl Watching You” by J. A. Schneider. I had this on my Kindle and was reading it when my Kindle took a dump on me when it was getting at the best parts, so I bought the paperback so I could start over. Well, that was my week, how was your week?

My Thoughts This was a new to me author. There were numerous characters to keep tabs on, and a lot of events happening in this book. Freya has ulterior motives of being on the luxurious yacht. The pace is unchanging, the characters are well developed, and it’s an easy, quick read. Moreover, it is hard to include it in the list of thrillers but it is a good book anyway. Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

My Thoughts Esther has a real moral problem; she has to represent a client who she knows is manipulative and a liar. Nevertheless, Peter gets terrible news from Esther's past and threatens to make her tell her secret....

My Thoughts The characters were incredibly engaging and the writing was superb. The author really brought everything to life. The tempo was slow at times. Many subplots appeared to be irrelevant to the main mystery and could have been omitted. To sum it up, it is a great choice for a fan of crime thrillers that have surprising turns in the plot....
