Books from the Backlog is a fun way to feature some of those neglected books sitting on your bookshelf unread. If you are anything like me, you might be surprised by some of the unread books hiding in your stacks. Hosted by Carole’s Random Life
This week’s neglected book:

From Goodreads:
Finlay Donovan is killing it . . . except, she’s really not. She’s a stressed-out single-mom of two and struggling novelist, Finlay’s life is in the new book she promised her literary agent isn’t written, her ex-husband fired the nanny without telling her, and this morning she had to send her four-year-old to school with hair duct-taped to her head after an incident with scissors.
When Finlay is overheard discussing the plot of her new suspense novel with her agent over lunch, she’s mistaken for a contract killer, and inadvertently accepts an offer to dispose of a problem husband in order to make ends meet . . . Soon, Finlay discovers that crime in real life is a lot more difficult than its fictional counterpart, as she becomes tangled in a real-life murder investigation.
Why did I add Finlay Donovan Is Killing It to my shelf?
At the time, this book was a hot read. Everyone was talking about it, so I thought, well, why not? So I added it to my shelf, where it has set. As my pile grew, it got buried close to the bottom, so it was forgotten. Will I read this in time? I don’t think I will, I think this one will be a Down The TBR Hole.
What are your thoughts? Have you read anything by this author? Would you read this book?
